Le mur de la paix

The wall for peace in Paris, located on the Champs de Mars opposite the Eiffel tower, was designed by the artist Clara Halter and architect Jean-Michel Wilmote. The wall was inspired by the wailing wall in Jerusalem, and allows visitors to place messages of peace in the wall. Ironically, access to the monument is closed due to security concerns.

  1. This was one of several monuments I missed out on when I was in Paris. As things typically work in the world, I probably walked right passed it at the beginning of my year there. Then several months later I learned about it and never made it back.
